Welcome to a new RFBAQ Rep for a new RFSQ District

Wednesday, 2 Sep 2015

Friday saw the RFBAQ SEM meet in Brisbane to finalise the appointment process for the new Burnett RFBAQ Representative.

Les Lane from Taromeo RFB was endorsed as the new RFBAQ volunteer representative.

The formation of the 3 new RFSQ Districts was a recommendation of the Malone Review into the Rural Fire Service that sees all brigades now receiving a higher level of support from the Rural Fire Service.

Les joined Taromeo RFB in 2008 and was later elected 1st Officer in 2009, a position he continues to hold.

He was awarded local Achiever of the year in 2014 from the South Burnett Regional Council, is chairman of the Blackbutt Benarkin community council 2012 to present, is a committee member of the Blomin’ Beautiful Blackbutt festival 2013 to present and was elected as Nanango Rural Fire Group Officer in 2011, a role he continues to hold.

Les can be contacted on burnett@rfbaq.org

Every brigade in the new Burnett District will receive written notification next week.
