LongRide for Dad

Tuesday, 17 Nov 2015

Corporal Glen Garrahy, son of the late Mick Garrahy AFSM and former RFBAQ President, is on a mission to raise awareness of prostate cancer.

“Recently we lost dad to aggressive prostate cancer. He showed an incredible depth of character and immeasurable courage by going through numerous aggressive treatments so he could get a little extra time with us and his grandson Percy. I’m riding a motorcycle in "LongRide 2016" from Brisbane to Margaret River WA to help raise awareness of prostate cancer.

I am doing this in memory of Dad and the hope is that by spreading the word and debunking the myths about prostate cancer we can save some lives. The RFB like the Defence Force is a heavily male populated workforce, and being so is greatly affected by this insidious disease. I will be carrying dads RFB helmet and flag on my motorcycle for the journey.

I need to fundraise $3000 to supplement my own savings to get this done. Any money you can donate will make a massive difference. No donation is too small.”

Glen sets off on 7th April 2016, however he needs our help to get him on the road and to raise awareness of prostate cancer.
