Nissan Patrols coming back for Brigades

Rural Fire Brigades will be able to have more choice in the upcoming 2016/2017 vehicle build programme.
Now brigades who are replacing light attack vehicles can choose between a dual cab Ford Ranger with a slip on unit or a Nissan Patrol light attack.
The 2016/2017 build programme will have 7 Patrols and 4 Rangers with vehicle allocation driven by brigade choice.
The new Patrol build was brought before the RFSQ Strategic Committee meeting in March as a result of the RFBAQ convened meeting in January with Deputy Commissioner Mike Wassing at Quickorp Kawana. It was at this meeting where the need was raised for a purpose built bush firefighting light attack vehicle be re-introduced to the Rural Fire Service.
All new Patrols will be fitted with UHF & VHF radios as standard with GWN radios fitted for brigades in the GWN footprint.
