From now expect to see the first of 110 new yellow fire-fighting vehicles make tracks across the state as Queensland's rural fire brigades' truck fleet expands.
The RFBAQ dropped into QuikCorp Fire Engineering to see how the new appliances for our community's volunteer-based brigades are coming along.
Ready to hit the road in the next 18 months are:
- 33 Single Cab Isuzu
- 31 Dual Cab Isuzu
- 35 FUSO Canters
- 4 Ford Rangers
- 2 Ford Ranger Dual Cabs
- 5 Ford Ranger Space Cabs
The roll-out of more appliances comes on the back of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services' commitment to pay for the fueling and maintenance of all Rural Fire Service vehicles.
The RFBAQ thanks Commissioner Katarina Carroll for her ongoing support for brigade volunteers as they continue their tireless work defending Queensland communities.
All the vehicles are produced by a Queensland company that employs over 120 Queenslanders.
