RFBAQ Brigade Grants available and being paid

At the RFBAQ Senior Executive Management (SEM) meeting held on Tuesday 31st January a grant for Glencoe Rural Fire Brigade (RFB) in the Burnett Area was approved. They have applied for a satellite phone to the value of $2,840 as they are in a well known communication blackspot and have no mobile coverage in 99% of the brigade area. Glencoe RFB has previously received RFBAQ support for $2,900 towards the building of a communication room in 2004.
So far this month the RFBAQ has paid grants to Mount Fox RFB and Perry River RFB.
Mount Fox RFB is in the Townsville Area and through the RFBAQ grants have been able to install a $8,100 septic tank for their station. Mount Fox RFB has also been in receipt of an RFBAQ grant back in 2007, were $2,900 funded a slip on unit, speed loader, McLeod tools, 1st aid kit, fire blanket and drums of foam.
Located in the Bundaberg Area, Perry River RFB was successful in receiving a $2,700 grant for a laptop and chainsaw, chaps and helmet. In 2011 Perry River had another successful RFBAQ grant of $6,200 which was used to purchase 2 x Water Tanks 24,400 litres, a fridge, a laptop & a printer.
Gaeta RFB also in the Bundaberg Area, has received $6,585 to purchase 3 x 22,700 litre water tanks to attach to their fire shed. The brigade has limited access to reliable water fill points and many of the creeks and dams are dry. Gaeta received an RFBAQ grant of $1,144 for office equipment and communications upgrade in 2009 and another RFBAQ grant of $4,252 in 2010 towards various firefighting equipment.
