Seymour Rural Fire Brigade in the Townsville RFSQ Area and Hinchinbrook Shire has been approved for $10,000 in RFBAQ funding to pour a concrete slab. They are due to receive a new fire appliance and are raising funds to build a home to go around it.

Seymour RFB has 11 active firefighters and 9 support members, receives a Rural Fire Levy from council of $2,316 per year.

Birthamba Rural Fire Brigade in the Bundaberg RFSQ Area has been approved for $2,800 for the purchase of a chainsaw along with the appropriate safety equipment and a fridge to be installed on the 81 support vehicle.

Birthamba RFB has 23 active firefighters and 1 support member and the brigade receives a Rural Fire Levy from council of $7,339 per year.

Wright Creek Rural Fire Brigade in the Cairns Peninsular RFSQ Area has received $1,000 in the PPB Grant funding process for a 5 wheel spinner rake. Wright Creek RFB does not receive a Rural Fire Levy from council.

The final grant application was to extend support to a brigade that recently lost their 1st Officer. The RFBAQ again would like to extend their condolences to the family and the brigade membership.

Every month the RFBAQ meets to assess and approve grant applications from brigades that do and brigades that do not receive a Rural Fire Levy from council.

If your brigade would like to apply for a RFBAQ grant, please contact your local RFBAQ volunteer Representative.
