RFBAQ approves $10,000 for Wallumbilla Rural Fire Brigade Station fit-out.
Thursday, 26 Oct 2017
This is the 5th RFBAQ grant that the brigade has accessed.
Wallumbilla RFB has 25 active members and defends a town of 262 residents with a brigade area of 845 sq klm.
The brigade plays a very vital part in supporting community safety from road crash rescue capability to fire fighting operations.
Wallumbilla has been consistently the most active Rural Brigade within the area, states local RFSQ Roma Area Director, Inspector Goetz Graf.
The recent construction of the combined Emergency Services Shed build at Wallumbilla is just a reflection of the hard work of the volunteers of Wallumbilla in support of their wider community.
This grant enables these volunteers to fit out the building to an operational standard as a fully operational Rural Fire Station with training room and kitchen facility, which would not be otherwise available to the brigade as they are not in receipt of a Rural Fire Levy.
Previous support from the RFBAQ to this town has been –
2016 - RFBAQ/Rexel Safety Equipment Grant
2014 - Chainsaw and accessories
2011 - Two 4.3 inch GPS units and two fire fighting nozzles
2008 - 2 x Mop-up Units & Speed Loaders and Ancillary Equipment
