Having initially joined the Association in October 2009 as Deputy CEO I have recently been appointed as CEO in February 2013. My focus is to oversee and manage the business arm of the RFBAQ whilst providing support to the RFBAQ President, members of the SEM and Area Representatives. I also strive to create, maintain and build relationships with key stakeholders commensurate with level of direction delegated by the SEM.
I joined the Association in October 2010 and was recently appointed the Acting Deputy CEO. I manage all activities related to the operations and development of the Association such as organisational strategies and writing policies and procedures across all functions. I manage the Art Union direct mail process; Marketing and Communications; Grant Funding Applications; and all supplier service level agreements. I also spend my time looking for new business opportunities and partnerships that benefit the rural fire brigade volunteer community and the Association.
Employed with the Association in January 2009 I have recently been appointed Acting Executive Assistant to the CEO. I not only provide administrative support to the CEO but I also support the RFBAQ Area Representatives through the distribution of information and coordination of meetings and events. I also assist in special projects, manage the website and book travel and accommodation.
Having joined the Association in July 2011, I have been busy implementing sound financial practices across the Association to ensure we meet our legal and financial obligations. I also look after payroll; Art Union reconciliation and auditing; accounts and invoicing; and the negotiation of contracts and pricing for the Association’s purchases. I also prepare the budgets and contribute to the Association’s strategic financial direction.
I have been with the Association for the past 5 years and started as a Contact Centre Agent. Recently I joined the Head Office team as the Office Administrator & Volunteers Coordinator and provide reception services for Head Office; provide all administrative and financial support; and support rural fire brigade volunteers through the dissemination of information.
I started with the RFBAQ in late May 2011 as the Contact Centre Manager. I manage the 45 plus Contact Centre Staff to ensure that we raise funds in a cost effective manner to ensure ongoing financial support to the Rural Fire Brigades community throughout Queensland. I am also responsible for ensuring that we pursue a strategic path that will allow us to continue to grow over the next few years.
