FREE RFBAQ Cap or Field Note Book
Wednesday, 5 Nov 2014
Swap your brigade insignia such as an old brigade patch, brigade t-shirt etc. for a FREE RFBAQ Cap or Field Note Book!
By giving a piece of your brigade’s insignia you will be helping to collate a historical database of the history of the Fire Services in Queensland.
Peter Derges, Senior Community Education Officer QFES has been interested in the history of the Fire Services in Queensland for well over 30 years now and has subsequently amassed a rather large collection of insignia and uniforms. As an indicator of the size of this collection there are approximately 250 uniform items, over 100 helmets, well over 50 dress hats and he has recently added yet another display board for badges and patches.
Individual insignia used by brigades throughout Queensland has proven to be some of the most elusive items for Peter to add. So the RFBAQ is assisting Peter by providing brigade volunteers with either a RFBAQ Cap or RFBAQ Field Note Book to those who send in their brigade’s insignia to the RFBAQ at 101A Mary Street, Gympie Qld 4570.
Make sure your brigade’s insignia is accompanied with your name, brigade name, contact number, postal address, a description of items sent in and whether you would like a RFBAQ Cap or Field Note Book in return for the items posted. Whilst duplicated brigade items are accepted, the RFBAQ will only be providing one free item to the first of it's kind.
Your brigade’s piece of history will then be forwarded on to Peter Derges to assist him in compiling a more complete representation of all who serve the Queensland Rural Fire Service community.
