General Meeting of the RFBAQ held in Gympie
Friday, 9 March 2012 saw the elected Representatives of the Association travel to Gympie for a General Meeting (GM) and Senior Executive Management Meeting (SEM).
The RFBAQ would like to announce that the vacancy in Charters Towers has been filled with the unanimous appointment of Nellie Baron as the Area Representative.
Nellie is the PSO for her Area and has previously represented the RFBAQ up until 2009. Nellie can be contacted on 0427 566 024 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Five grant application forms have been received for the month of February, and all of these grants were tabled in front of the full meeting of Representatives.
The Association is pleased to announce that four applications were successful with the fifth grant being deferred for the need of supplementary information.
The grants approved are as follows.
- North Maroochy Group, Caloundra Area – purchase of a command vehicle – approved for $3,600
- Millstream South RFB, Innisfail Area – Replacement of existing vehicle - approved for $18,000
- Georgetown RFB, Innisfail Area - Replacement of existing vehicle - approved for $20,000
- Bambaroo RFB, Townsville Area – Family support for fire-fighter - approved for $1,300
In addition to these tabled grants the Association is also providing financial support to the family of 1st Officer Brendon Goldsmith.
