RFBAQ Election – District Declared and Ballot Papers sent

Nominations for the RFBAQ District Representative for the Gladstone, West Moreton and Burnett closed on Monday, 29th June.

The RFBAQ would like to welcome John Massurit of Captain Creek Rural Fire Brigade as the newly elected Representative for the new District of Gladstone. A letter of notification has been mailed to every brigade in the Gladstone District informing them of the election results and the closing of the election process.

Two candidates were nominated for the new District of West Moreton and Ballot Papers for this has been posted. The closing date for Ballot Papers to be received by the Returning Officer is close of business Monday, 24th August 2015. Brigades are entitled to one vote each.

No nominations were received for the District of Burnett.

Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ) has now increased their support to rural fire with the opening of 3 new district offices at Burnett, Kingaroy and South Coast. Ipswich district will now be called West Moreton and the current RFBAQ Representative for that district, Alan Gillespie AFSM, will now take on South Coast as that is where his brigade is located.
