RFBAQ Election – Ballott papers opened and counted – Districts Declared

Maryborough and Townsville RFBAQ District Representative ballot paper collection closed Monday, 28th July and ballots were opened and counted today by David Gibson MP for Gympie and Justin Choveaux RFBAQ General Manager.
David acted as scrutineer, opening the locked ballot paper box, opening sealed voting envelopes and assigning ballots to candidate and district.
Graeme McWilliam of Sandy Straits Rural Fire Brigade was declared elect for the Maryborough District and Jim Besgrove of Rangewood RFB was declared for the Townsville District. Both were contacted today advising them that they have been elected for their respective districts.
The RFBAQ would like to thank Lesley Brand for her nomination in the Maryborough District and Warren Kelly for his nomination in the Townsville District.
Brigades will be notified by mail before Monday, 25th August and all ballot papers will be destroyed at the SEM meeting after the Annual General Meeting in September.
