All truck brigades receive massive boost

QFES Commissioner Katarina Carroll has announced that fuel and maintenance costs for the RFSQ yellow fleet will be fully funded in the 2016/17 financial year.
Speaking at the RFSQ Volunteer Summit in Townsville today, Commissioner Carroll announced that the finer details of the fuel and maintenance program would be determined by a special taskforce to be headed by RFSQ Assistant Commissioner Tom Dawson.
Commissioner Carroll also announced that the state vehicle build will be 116 vehicles over the 2015/16 and 2016/17 financial years.
The RFBAQ Representatives and volunteers at the meeting welcomed the news with loud applause.
The RFBAQ has long called for a higher level of support for fuel and maintenance in the yellow trucks and greatly welcomes the increased support to communities across Queensland.
This increased community defence funding will allow brigades that currently receive a rural fire levy from their local council to enhance a broader all hazards approach to preparation, response and recovery.
