In 2020 Ford Australia contacted the RFBAQ seeking input into a potential heavier class of vehicle suited for emergency service use. This is from them watching our Landcruiser Light Attack and Innovation Platform youtube videos.
The RFBAQ GM spoke to Commissioner Leach, Deputy Commissioners Wassing and Roach and Chief Operating Officer Adam Stevenson. It was decided at that meeting that the RFBAQ GM would be the contact point in helping develop a heavier class of vehicle suited for emergency service use.
In 2022 the RFBAQ took the FusionCruiser to the Ford development facility at You Yangs and in June last year went to Melbourne to see the pre-production models.
Last Monday and Tuesday saw brigade members, local RFBAQ representatives and RFSQ/QFD staff attend showings of the Ford Ranger Super Duty in Brisbane. This was an opportunity to directly ask questions of the people who designed and built the Super Duty.
The RFBAQ would like to thank Ford Australia for the opportunity to be involved in this project for the last 5 years.
