Yesterday saw the meeting of the RFBAQ Senior Management and the approval of grants for Fairview RFB and Almaden RFB.
Fairview Rural Fire Brigade is a Primary Producer Brigade based northwest of Winton encompassing a portion of the Landsborough Highway (the main route from Brisbane to Darwin).
Fairview has successfully applied for a Gambling Fund grant to erect a UHF repeater tower and the RFBAQ has agreed to fund $4,726 for machinery hire, site preparation, concrete and stirrups.
The brigade has 15 active members and 4 support members with a brigade area of 2,492 sq klm.
Almaden Rural Fire Brigade is on the road between Chillagoe and Dimbulah in the Mareeba shire. As a Rural classification brigade with 15 active members, Almaden is being supplied with a 20 ft shipping container costing $4,180 to store brigade equipment in. This will allow the volunteers quicker access to their firefighting equipment.
End of Financial year - Brigade Specific Donations
With the end of financial year, many Queenslanders are donating to their brigades using the RFBAQ brigade specific donation facility where 100% of the donation is passed to the brigade and the donor receives a tax deductible receipt.
The RFBAQ ask that brigades bank these cheques as soon as possible or supply the RFBAQ with your BSB and account number so that we can electronically deposit the donation into the brigade account.
